Tottenham Hotspur targets new goalkeeper as Vicario likely to depart
Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to replace departing first‑choice keeper Guglielmo Vicario, who is linked with a move to Juventus. The club have identified two possible signings. One is 24‑year‑old French international Lucas Chevalier, currently at Paris Saint‑Germain, who has expressed a desire to play in the Premier League. Tottenham will face competition from Turkish side Besiktas and from fellow Premier League clubs, including Aston Villa, for Chevalier.
Another target is 35‑year‑old Wales international Karl Darlow of Leeds United, whose contract expires at the end of June. Tottenham are set to compete with Manchester United for Darlow on a free transfer. United see him as cover for their outgoing goalkeeper, while Tottenham view him as a backup while they develop younger options.
Both pursuits reflect Tottenham’s aim to secure a reliable goalkeeper after Vicario’s expected exit.
