Tottenham pursue Manchester City winger Savinho in summer transfer window

Tottenham Hotspur are in advanced talks with Manchester City to sign Brazilian winger Savinho. The clubs have been unable to agree on a valuation, with reports placing the fee between £60 million and £68 million, though Tottenham hope to reach a deal closer to £60 million. Savinho has reportedly told Manchester City he wants to leave, and the North London side regard him as a top‑priority attacking signing for manager Roberto De Zerbi.

De Zerbi also publicly stated he wants Swedish midfielder Lucas Bergvall to stay at the club but cannot guarantee a regular starting place, amid stiff competition from recent signings such as Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes. Left‑back João Victor de Souza, signed for €15 million in January, has made four appearances; a €20 million bid from Benfica was rejected and FC Porto are in contact with his representatives.

Tottenham have already spent roughly £237 million on new players this summer, including Tonali (£100 m), Fernandes (£85 m) and van Hecke (£52 m), while also adding free‑transfer veterans. The club’s aggressive spending underpins its strategy to improve the squad after two consecutive 17th‑place finishes.
