Tottenham Hotspur targets multiple players to strengthen squad

Tottenham Hotspur is actively exploring several transfer options to strengthen their squad following a 3-0 defeat to Brentford in their Premier League opener. The club is reportedly pursuing Cody Gakpo from Liverpool, with terms potentially already agreed upon subject to a final valuation.

As a contingency plan, manager Roberto De Zerbi has identified Chelsea's Mykhaylo Mudryk as a primary alternative for the attacking flanks. De Zerbi previously coached Mudryk at Shakhtar Donetsk. Mudryk may be available on loan as Chelsea seeks to secure regular playing time for the player.

In addition to attacking reinforcements, Tottenham is monitoring Benfica goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin to replace Guglielmo Vicario, who has moved to Juventus. While no formal negotiations are currently underway, the club is expected to move for a replacement soon. Benfica is reportedly seeking approximately €40 million to release the Ukrainian international, who has two seasons remaining on his contract.
