Tottenham manager De Zerbi reveals three players requested transfers

Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi has revealed that three players—Richarlison, Pape Matar Sarr, and Kevin Danso—have formally requested to leave the club. The announcement followed a 0-2 home defeat against Newcastle United, marking the team's second consecutive loss in the league.

De Zerbi stated that Richarlison has expressed his desire to move on multiple times. He also noted that Danso approached him two days prior to request a transfer, with Sarr following suit. While De Zerbi described the players as “wonderful human beings,” he emphasized that any departure must involve an “economic solution” for the club to facilitate the moves and allow for new signings.

The squad instability comes despite significant summer investment by the club. De Zerbi identified team mentality as the primary challenge facing the squad as they attempt to rebuild following previous difficult seasons.
