Tottenham midfielder Rio Kyerematen sidelined with hamstring injury
Rio Kyerematen, the 21‑year‑old Tottenham Hotspur midfielder who impressed manager Roberto De Zerbi during the club's pre‑season tour of New Zealand and Australia, has suffered a hamstring injury that will keep him out for an extended period. The injury was reported by academy‑focused account Lilywhite Rose, noting his strong performances in all four friendlies.
Tottenham's pre‑season squad has been plagued by a range of other fitness issues. Mateus Fernandes is dealing with calf fatigue, James Maddison sustained a training knock, and Micky van de Ven has not yet reached full match fitness after his post‑World Cup break. Additional players still in rehabilitation include Xavi Simons (knee), Wilson Odobert (ACL), Guglielmo Vicario (unspecified), Mo Kudus (thigh) and Dejan Kulusevski (knee). The club will continue to manage these injuries as it prepares for the upcoming friendly against Getafe.
