Tottenham prepares record deal for midfielder Sandro Tonali

Tottenham Hotspur is ready to sign Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali, provided the club reaches an agreement with Newcastle United over his transfer. Sky Sports reports that the 26‑year‑old is keen on playing under Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi and that the Spurs have drafted a contract offering more than €320,000 (about £275,000) per week – roughly €16 million a year.

Newcastle rejected a £92 million bid from Tottenham earlier in the window, valuing Tonali at around £115 million. The midfielder’s name is also linked with Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea, but Tottenham is reportedly the most advanced in securing his signature.
