Tottenham confirm Van Hecke signing as Brighton intensifies bid for Luka Vušković

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Dutch centre‑back Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton & Hove Albion on a long‑term contract, with the transfer reported to be worth around €60 million. The move reunites van Hecke with manager Roberto De Zerbi, who coached him at Brighton.

Brighton have stepped up their pursuit of Croatian defender Luka Vušković, submitting a third offer of £45 million (about €52 million) after previous bids of £30 million and £35 million were rejected. Tottenham maintain a valuation above £50 million and the player has indicated he wants a move to secure regular first‑team minutes. Discussions continue amid fan reaction that the latest bid remains below the club’s asking price.

In another potential transfer, Portuguese midfielder Joao Palhinha, on loan from Bayern Munich, could join Tottenham permanently. The club holds an option to sign him for roughly £25.9 million, with negotiations to lower the fee as Sporting CP also shows interest.

Tottenham are also reported to be monitoring MLS striker Kevin Denkey as a possible forward signing.
