Tottenham sign Argentine defender Marcos Senesi
Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of 29‑year‑old Argentine centre‑back Marcos Senesi on a free transfer from Bournemouth. The move, announced as the club's second free acquisition of the summer, follows manager Roberto De Zerbi's overhaul of a defence that conceded over 120 league goals in the past two seasons. Senesi, who made 128 appearances for Bournemouth, joined after his contract expired. De Zerbi praised Senesi's experience, ball‑playing quality and mentality, saying he will add flexibility and strengthen the back line. Senesi expressed his excitement, stating, “It’s a very special feeling to be a Tottenham Hotspur player… I want to win things with Tottenham and will do everything I can to make that happen.” The signing adds to recent defensive changes, including the earlier arrival of left‑back Andy Robertson, a new one‑year contract for veteran Ben Davies and the impending departure of midfielder Yves Bissouma.
