Tottenham target Jan Paul van Hecke as they eye €34m defender Evan Ndicka

Tottenham Hotspur are actively pursuing Brighton centre‑back Jan Paul van Hecke, having already submitted a €40 million offer that was rejected and are rumored to be willing to meet an €80 million price tag. Dutch journalist Mike Verweij suggested the move would aid the Dutch international’s development under manager Roberto De Zerbi.

At the same time, Spurs are monitoring Roma defender Evan Ndicka, who is listed at around £34 million (€40 million) after Roma’s need to sell for Financial Fair Play reasons. Newcastle United and Bournemouth have also entered the race for Ndicka, adding competition for the London club.

Tottenham’s interest comes as they look to reinforce a defence that suffered injuries to Sven Botman and the possible departure of Cristian Romero, while also seeking to improve on a disappointing season that saw them finish below Brighton.
