Touch ‘n Go to expand Enhanced RFID lanes across five Malaysian highways

Touch ‘n Go (TNG) has announced the expansion of its Enhanced RFID network, with 10 additional lanes scheduled to be deployed across five Malaysian highways by the fourth quarter of 2026. The announcement was made during the MyARTTE 2026 trade show in Kuala Lumpur.

The new Enhanced RFID lanes will be distributed across six toll plazas. These include two lanes each at the Putrajaya toll plaza on the Maju Expressway (MEX), the Sungai Ramal toll plaza on the Kajang Dispersal Link Expressway (SILK), the Bukit Raja toll plaza on the Grand Sepadu Highway, and the Bukit Jelutong toll plaza on the Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE). Additionally, one lane each will be installed at the Sungai Long and Ampang toll plazas on the East Klang Valley Expressway (EKVE).

Unlike standard RFID, the Enhanced RFID system utilizes a combination of RFID, Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR), artificial intelligence, and machine learning through TNG’s Titan Flow technology. This multi-technology approach is designed to improve vehicle detection and throughput, allowing for more reliable transactions at higher speeds. The rollout serves as a transitional step toward Single Lane Fast Flow (SLFF) and eventually barrier-free Multi-Lane Fast Flow (MLFF) systems. Motorists can identify these lanes by a gold star symbol on the signage, and existing RFID tags do not require replacement.
