Touken Ranbu announces new musical and inaugural ice show

The Touken Ranbu franchise is expanding its multimedia presence through new stage and ice productions. Riku Akashi, a member of the dance and vocal group SEVENIC, has been cast as Himetsuru Ichimonji in the upcoming musical “Touken Ranbu ~Tsukiyo Ichirui~”, scheduled to open on September 7. Akashi expressed his enthusiasm for the role, noting that he is focusing on historical study and sword fighting practice to prepare for the performance.

Additionally, the franchise will debut its first ice show, “Touken Ranbu – ICE BLADE -”, at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in October 2026. The production will feature top skaters, including Olympic silver medalist Kaori Sakamoto, who will perform as an original character called the “Ice Spirit”. The show aims to blend physical skating expression with voice acting from the original game's cast.
