Toulon inaugurates 2,000 m² dog beach at Pipady near the Tour Royale

On 30 July 2026 the city of Toulon opened a new 2,000 m² fenced swimming area for dogs at Pipady, situated at the foot of the historic Tour Royale. The inauguration was led by Mayor Josée Massi and follows a municipal pledge to improve conditions for companion animals. Water quality tests confirmed the absence of cyanobacteria, and the design was reviewed by the architect of the Bâtiments de France to protect the heritage site.

The new canine beach joins a growing network of dog‑friendly coastal spots in the Var region, including sites in Bandol, Bormes‑les‑Mimosas, Hyères, Six‑Fours, and others highlighted by the local tourism office.
