Toulon Métropole Futsal wins D1 opener against Garges

Toulon Métropole Futsal (TMF) successfully launched its sixteenth season in the D1 futsal elite with a 5-3 victory against Garges. The match, played before nearly 600 spectators, marked the beginning of a new era for the club following the departure of long-time key players Nito and Pupa.

Despite an early injury to Raul Villaverde, the rejuvenated squad maintained momentum. New signings contributed significantly to the win: goalkeeper Alvaro Carrion recorded fifteen saves and demonstrated an active offensive style, while Alexis Dubois scored twice in his D1 debut. Goals from Gora Diop, Simon Luc-Mkhamma, and Gustavo secured the three points.

Coach Sergueï Padalinski noted that the team has undergone a significant transition, with nearly 50% of the roster being renewed. The new squad features a stronger emphasis on younger, French players whom the coach aims to develop for the national team.
