Toulouse family tragedy: three dead including toddler
A family tragedy in Toulouse, France, has left three people dead, including a two-year-old child. Authorities are investigating a suspected triple homicide followed by suicide.
According to Toulouse prosecutor David Charmatz, the victims include the child, the child's mother (approximately 30 years old), and a woman in her sixties, identified by police sources as the perpetrator's mother. The victims were reportedly killed with knives inside their home.
Police first responded to the residence on Monday evening following reports of a family dispute, but received no response at the door. Upon returning the following day, officers discovered the three bodies. A fourth body, believed to be the father, was found after he reportedly took his own life.
The Toulouse prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into charges including spouse homicide, homicide of an ascendant, and infanticide. The case has been assigned to the Division for Organized and Specialized Crime (DCOS).
