Tour bus catches fire on National Highway 1 in Hsinchu

A tour bus caught fire on National Highway 1 in the Hukou section of Hsinchu County. The incident occurred around 9:02 PM when the driver, a 50-year-old man, noticed smoke coming from the engine compartment due to a suspected mechanical failure.

The driver immediately pulled the vehicle onto the shoulder and evacuated all 14 passengers. The passengers were subsequently picked up by another vehicle from the same company. Firefighters arrived at the scene and used water and foam to control the blaze, which was fully extinguished by 9:52 PM. No injuries or casualties were reported, and authorities confirmed no one was trapped in the vehicle.
