Tour de France 2026 penalties and stage results
The 2026 Tour de France's penultimate stage featured five major mountain climbs, including the Col de la Croix de Fer, Col du Télégraphe, Col du Galibier and Alpe d’Huez. Richard Carapaz won the stage, sealing the overall mountain‑classification title, while Belgium’s Remco Evenepoel finished second, leaving his overall standing unchanged.
The race jury imposed a series of fines and time penalties for rule violations. Team directors Sam Bewley (NSN) and Luke Rowe (Decathlon) each received 500 Swiss francs for unauthorized feeding, and riders Adam Yates and Aurélien Paret‑Peintre were fined 200 francs for similar infractions. Visma | Lease a Bike director Arthur van Dongen was penalised 1,000 francs and demoted in the motor‑cade. Additional fines were issued to other team staff for improper use of support bottles, vehicle movements in the time‑trial and public urination, totalling several thousand francs in penalties.
