Jonas Vingegaard's Visma team unveils squad for Tour de France 2026

Visma‑Lease a Bike announced an eight‑rider squad for the Tour de France 2026, which starts on 4 July in Barcelona. The lineup is built around double champion Jonas Vingegaard, who is targeting a third overall win after his victories in 2022 and 2023. The team includes Victor Campenaerts, Edoardo Affini, Per Strand Hagenes, Matteo Jorgenson, Sepp Kuss, Bruno Armirail and Davide Piganzoli. Piganzoli, an Italian 23‑year‑old who finished eighth in the Giro d’Italia and won the Route d’Occitanie, replaces the injured Wout Van Aert, who withdrew because of an elbow infection; Christophe Laporte is also absent after a quadriceps tear. Head coach Marc Reed said, “Our goal is obvious, especially with Jonas: we want to win the Tour de France.” Danish cycling expert Anders Lund remarked that the late call‑up “seems a bit improvised, it smells a little like panic.” The squad will aim to challenge the race favourite Tadej Pogacar and to capitalize on Vingegaard’s recent dominance.
