Tour de France 2026 stage marked by bottle dispute and multi‑rider crash

During the 13th stage of the 2026 Tour de France, French rider Jordan Jegat reacted angrily after a teammate or rival team member pretended to hand him a water bottle but then withdrew it, sparking a heated exchange captured on video.

Earlier, the sprint finish of the 12th stage saw a massive crash about 350 m from the line, involving six to seven riders after a contact between a Decathlon rider and Colombian sprinter Fernando Gaviria. The pile‑up also knocked down French Ineos sprinter Dorian Godonne and two Lotto riders. Race officials neutralised the incident, wiping any time gaps so the general‑classification leaders – Primo Žižek, Jonas Vingegaard, Remco Evenepoel and others – retained their positions. Belgian Tim Merlier claimed the stage win as the neutralisation kept the overall standings unchanged.
