Tour de France 2026 starts in Barcelona as Italy stages Giro delle Terre Brigasche gravel race

The 2026 edition of the Tour de France will run from 4 July to 26 July, beginning with a historic team time‑trial start in Barcelona, Spain. The 19.6‑km course finishes on the Montjuïc Olympic Park hill before the race moves into the Pyrenees and later the Alps, culminating with two stages on the iconic Alpe d'Huez climb.

In Italy, the second edition of the Giro delle Terre Brigasche Monster Gravel took place on 12 July in the Ligurian Alps. The race began at Colle Melosa and, after an initial sunny start, faced rain and hail that forced organizers to alter the route, adding the technical Speggi climb and navigating 46 hairpin bends at Col di Tenda. The event, organized by Blu di Mare – Circolo Parasio ASD under CSAIN and the patronage of the Parco delle Alpi Liguri, tested riders’ endurance and handling skills amid rapidly changing mountain weather.
