Tour de France sees women's race progress and eyes Italian col Finestre for 2027

French rider Solène Muller, competing in her first Tour de France Femmes, finished 38th overall after a solid debut on the opening stages around Lausanne and Geneva, moving up to seventh in the young rider classification. Her performance was highlighted despite a minor fall, and she supported team leader Émilie Morier throughout the race.

Separately, organizers are considering adding the legendary Italian col Finestre to the men's Tour de France route for the 2027 edition. Mayor of Sestrières has contacted race director Christian Prudhomme to propose the mountain finish, citing its historic climbs and potential to boost the town’s bid for the 2028 European Capital of Sport. The proposal could also provide a decisive stage for defending champion Tadej Pogačar.
