Tour de Pologne 2026: Jonathan Milan wins opening stage
The 83rd edition of the Tour de Pologne began on 3 August 2026 in Gdynia, marking the start of a seven‑stage WorldTour race that will finish on 9 August with an individual time trial in Wieliczka. The opening stage covered 234 km from Gdynia to Koszalin. Italian sprinter Jonathan Milan (Lidl‑Trek) won the stage in a sprint finish, ahead of Frenchman Paul Magnier (Soudal‑Quick Step) and Briton Noah Hobbs (EF Education‑EasyPost). Milan took the yellow jersey, leading the general classification by two seconds over Polish rider Kamil Malecki. The race features 147 riders from 21 teams, including all 18 UCI WorldTour squads and a Polish national team. Port Gdynia is the official partner for the start of stage 1, and a ceremonial team presentation was held aboard the historic destroyer ORP Błyskawica. Traffic disruptions are planned on the V stage route through Gliwice and in Szczecin, while the municipality of Brzeszcze will host a special prize section on the fifth stage. The event is promoted as a showcase of Polish sport and a boost for regional tourism.
