Tour de Suisse 2026 launches with new joint men‑women format and TCS safety partnership
The 89th edition of the Tour de Suisse begins on 17 June 2026 in Sondrio, Italy, introducing a historic format in which the men’s and women’s races run on the same days over virtually identical courses. Over five stages the race will move from northern Italy through Ticino into eastern Switzerland, covering 634.5 km for men (11 751 m of climbing) and 459 km for women (7 278 m of climbing) before finishing with a mountain finale at Villars‑Sur‑Ollon.
Swiss automobile club TCS returns as the official Road Safety Partner. It supplies protective safety mats at high‑risk points such as guardrails and walls, fields two support vehicles in the pre‑race caravan, and operates a stand in each Tour‑de‑Suisse village. The partnership aims to enhance rider safety for professionals and everyday cyclists alike.
