Tour de Suisse 2026 launches five‑day men's and women's race in Switzerland
The 2026 edition of the Tour de Suisse (Ronde van Zwitserland) will run from 17 to 21 June as a condensed five‑stage event for both men and women. Organisers have aligned the men's and women's races on the same dates, aiming to boost the profile of women's cycling. The men’s race features star riders Tadej Pogačar and Mathieu van der Poel among a strong peloton.
The women's race, the seventh edition, sees defending champion Marlen Reusser seeking to retain her title against a deep field that includes Demi Vollering, Kasia Niewiadoma, Elisa Balsamo and other top riders. The route starts in the Italian town of Sondrio and then traverses Swiss locales such as Küssnacht, Bad Ragaz and culminates with a demanding mountain stage that includes multiple climbs, including a 23.7 km individual time trial on Saturday and a long mountain finish on Sunday.
The format shift to a simultaneous five‑day men’s and women’s race is intended to secure the future of the Tour de Suisse and highlights the growing interest in women’s road cycling.
