Tour of Armenia debuts with 16 teams racing from Gavar to Erevan
The inaugural Tour of Armenia is set to take place from September 10 to 13. Included in the UCI Europe Tour calendar as a 2.2 category race, the event features 16 teams competing across 568 kilometers with more than 5,000 meters of elevation gain.
The race begins in Gavar and is scheduled to conclude in the capital city, Erevan. The competition is organized by the Government of the Republic of Armenia, the Sports Management Center, and the Armenian Cycling Federation, with technical expertise provided by Rcs Sports and Events DMCC. Samuel Sanchez serves as the official ambassador for the event.
Participating teams include Italian Pro Tour squads Bardiani CSF and Solution Tech Nippo Rali, alongside Continental teams such as Netcompany Ineos Racing Academy (UK), Lidl-Trek Future Racing (Germany), and the local ARM Cycling Club. Notable riders in the field include Alexandre Balmer and Daniil Pronskiy.
