Touring Club Italiano to host national treasure hunt in 100 villages

The seventh edition of the Caccia ai Tesori Arancioni, Italy’s largest treasure hunt, will take place on Sunday, October 4. Organized by the Touring Club Italiano, the event will be held simultaneously across more than 100 ‘Bandiera Arancione’ villages throughout Italy.

This year’s event features special stages dedicated to Saint Francis of Assisi to commemorate the 800th anniversary of his death. In Calabria, specific activities include a visit to the Monumental Church of San Francesco in Gerace with participants in traditional dress, a classic hunt in the historic center of Morano Calabro, and a themed route in Taverna titled ‘Sulle orme di San Francesco’ that integrates local products. In the Marche region, Sarnano will also host activities related to the Saint.

New features for this edition include a commemorative passport for participants to collect annual stamps and an exclusive backpack for registered teams. The event is designed for both adults and children, aiming to promote local identity, history, and gastronomy while supporting the Touring Club Italiano Foundation’s efforts to regenerate small inland communities.
