Valencia region advances tourism and heritage projects

In Valencia de Don Juan, the local government has awarded a concession to Tirovalencia SL to construct and operate a new zipline attraction. The project, which follows two previous unsuccessful bidding processes, will span approximately 320 meters across the Esla River, connecting the castle area to the municipal swimming pool zone. Expected to be fully operational by April 2027, the zipline will allow users to travel the distance in about 30 seconds at speeds approaching 100 kilometers per hour.

Separately, the Diputación de Valencia has extended the deadline for a 200,000 euro grant intended for the rehabilitation of les Covetes de Sant Joan. Originally scheduled for completion by 2026, the subsidy period has been extended to December 31, 2027, to account for unforeseen issues encountered during the works. This funding supports the expropriation and restoration of the site, which is classified as a Bien de Interés Cultural (BIC).
