Tourism and hospitality sectors focus on technology and growth in Latin America

The tourism and hospitality industries in Latin America are focusing on technological integration and professional expertise to meet changing consumer demands.

In Mendoza, Argentina, travel agencies and industry stakeholders gathered for a training and networking event titled ‘The Science Behind the Trip.’ The sessions addressed the impact of artificial intelligence on sales and customer service, advanced financial management, and evolving traveler habits. Participants included airlines such as Aerolíneas Argentinas and Copa Airlines, along with international hotel chains and tourism promotion organizations.

In Mexico City, the Abastur 2026 exhibition is set to host 600 exhibitors and 20,000 buyers at the Centro Banamex. The event focuses on the HORECA sector (hotels, restaurants, and cafes), offering solutions in food, beverage, equipment, and technology. This comes amid significant growth in Mexico's tourism sector, which currently accounts for approximately 8.7% of the national GDP.
