Tourism development planning decisions reached in Wales and Ireland

The Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority has approved plans to extend the car park and install a toilet block at Gwaun Hepste, near Ystradfellte. The project, proposed by Natural Resources Wales, aims to improve visitor facilities for the popular Four Waterfalls Trail. The development will include 119 parking spaces, eight disabled bays, two oversized vehicle bays, and a designated area for coaches and buses.

Separately, Donegal County Council has refused planning permission for a proposed glamping and wellbeing centre in Clonmany, Ireland. The application by Bernard and Catherine Devlin sought to add 10 eco-friendly glamping pods, a sauna, seaweed baths, and meditation decks to their existing business. The council denied the request following objections regarding the scale of the development, potential noise, light pollution, and concerns over the local road network and emergency service access.
