Tourism growth reported in Pag and Plužine

Tourism sectors in Pag, Croatia, and Plužine, Montenegro, are reporting significant growth and record-breaking results for the summer season.

In Pag, the tourist community recorded 115,000 arrivals and 910,000 overnight stays since the beginning of the year, representing a 3% increase in arrivals and a 4% increase in overnight stays compared to the previous year. August specifically saw a 2% rise in arrivals and a 3% rise in overnight stays, with the hotel sector experiencing a 5% increase in overnight stays. High occupancy rates in hotels, camps, and private accommodations suggest a strong start to the shoulder season in September.

Plužine has experienced a historic surge, with visitors arriving from 101 different countries. As of August 31, the municipality recorded 22,285 arrivals and 36,554 overnight stays, marking an approximately 35% increase compared to the same period last year. Local officials note that the total number of overnight stays for the current year has already surpassed the total recorded in 2025. Authorities expect to exceed 40,000 overnight stays by the end of the year, driven by improved registration systems and a strategic focus on extending the tourism season into autumn.
