Tourism initiatives launched in San Pedro Sula and Hidalgo
In Honduras, the National Chamber of Tourism (CANATURH SPS) and the San Pedro Sula Convention Bureau have announced the Bingo Turístico SPS 2026. Scheduled for September 30, 2026, at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Cortés, the event includes a Travel Fest expo to connect tourism businesses with the public. Proceeds from ticket sales will support the Fundación Amor y Vida, an organization providing integral care and social assistance.
In Mexico, the Hidalgo State Secretariat of Tourism is implementing a strengthening plan for the state’s nine ‘Pueblos Mágicos’ (Magical Towns). In coordination with the federal government, the initiative focuses on five key pillars: sustainability, infrastructure, professionalization, promotion, and commercialization. The program has already begun working with municipalities such as Zempoala, Huichapan, Tecozautla, and Zimapán to improve public spaces, service training, and environmental conservation.
