Tourism initiatives promote coastal destinations in Mexico

Tourism authorities and local providers are highlighting the natural and gastronomic appeal of coastal regions in Mexico to attract domestic and international visitors.

In Baja California, the Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Ángel Badiola Montaño, is promoting San Quintín as a destination defined by its biodiversity, including the wetlands of San Quintín Bay and whale shark sightings in Bahía de los Ángeles. The initiative focuses on creating authentic experiences that respect the region's identity while providing economic opportunities for local communities.

In Sonora, the coastal areas of San Carlos and Guaymas are seeing increased interest through maritime activities in the Sea of Cortez. Visitors have reported positive experiences with sailing tours, such as those offered by the Velero Ximena, noting the region's marine fauna and favorable climate as key attractions for family tourism.
