Spain and Slovenia report record tourism growth and rising hotel prices

Tourism sectors in Spain and Slovenia experienced significant growth in September, characterized by increased visitor numbers and rising accommodation costs. In Slovenia, September marked a record month with nearly 822,000 arrivals and almost two million overnight stays, representing an 11.4% increase in arrivals and a 12.4% increase in overnight stays compared to the previous year. Key visitors included travelers from Germany, Austria, and the USA.

In Spain, hotel prices rose by 6.7% in September, the sharpest increase in 17 months, with the average daily rate reaching 141.6 euros per occupied room. Despite these rising costs, overnight stays increased by 1.5% during the first nine months of the year, driven largely by non-resident travelers. Regional data shows significant price hikes in Ceuta (13.7%) and Madrid (10.4%), while Marbella recorded the highest average daily rate and revenue per available room. In the Valencian Community, hotel prices rose by 7%, yet overnight stays increased by 2.6% compared to the previous year.
