Tourism sectors in Argentina report high occupancy driven by regional events

Tourism sectors in various Argentine regions are reporting significant economic activity driven by local events and religious celebrations.

In Río Colorado, hotel occupancy reached 94% over a recent weekend. This surge was attributed to a combination of three major events: the 49th Livestock, Commercial, and Industrial Expo, the 6th Orchard and Countryside Festival, and a Provincial Artistic Gymnastics Tournament. The influx of visitors has stimulated demand across local commerce, gastronomy, and service sectors.

In Salta, officials are anticipating a positive impact from the upcoming Milagro religious festival. Fernando García Soria, coordinator of the Municipal Tourism Entity, noted that online reservation platforms are already exceeding last year’s 70% occupancy levels. The festival is expected to draw tourists from provinces such as Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Santa Fe, and Misiones, turning the capital into a sanctuary city while supporting the local economy.
