Tourism sectors in France and the EU report record growth in 2025

Tourism sectors in France and the European Union reported significant growth in 2025. In France, visitor numbers reached record levels, surpassing pre-pandemic 2019 figures. This surge is driven by an increase in visitors from Europe and the Americas, leading to higher spending in accommodation, dining, and leisure sectors. The industry aims to create 350,000 jobs by 2030 through diversification into areas like wine and agritourism.

Across the European Union, Eurostat reported that tourist accommodation reached 3.14 billion guest nights in 2025, a 4.1% increase from the previous year. While hotels remain the largest category at 61.4% of nights, holiday and short-stay accommodations saw a faster growth rate of 9.2%. Campsites also recorded a 5.8% increase. Most demand within the EU remains domestic or from other EU member states, though nights booked by visitors from Asia saw a notable 15.4% increase.
