Tourism sectors in Honduras and Colombia prepare for October holiday surges
Tourism sectors in Honduras and Colombia are preparing for significant travel surges during upcoming October holidays.
In Honduras, Minister of Tourism Andrés Ehrler Martínez projects that the ‘Semana Morazánica’ will mobilize over 500,000 people. This period, which concentrates holidays in the second week of October, is expected to generate an economic impact exceeding 600 million lempiras, benefiting hotels, restaurants, transport, and local commerce.
In Colombia, the Eje Cafetero region—comprising Caldas, Quindío, and Risaralda—is anticipating high demand due to the combination of a school recess week and the October 12 holiday. Local hospitality providers are already classifying the period between October 3 and October 12 as high or medium season to accommodate the expected influx of travelers.
