Tourism stakeholders promote cooperation and regulatory equality
Tourism stakeholders from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Turkey recently held a collaborative event in the Eastern Black Sea region to strengthen bilateral tourism ties. Organized by the TRNC Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment in partnership with TÜRSAB and KITSAB, the program included site visits to historical and natural landmarks such as the Sümela Monastery, Atatürk Mansion, and Ayder Plateau. The initiative focused on developing mutual tourism routes and increasing cooperation between travel agencies through B2B meetings.
Separately, TÜRSAB President Firuz Bağlıkaya has called for regulatory equality regarding the Foreign Digital Accommodation Platforms Bill currently before the Turkish Grand National Assembly. While expressing support for digitalization, Bağlıkaya emphasized that domestic travel agencies must operate under the same rules and obligations as foreign digital platforms to ensure fair competition within the tourism sector.
