Tourism trends show growth in Belo Horizonte and Minas Gerais

A new Tourism Demand Survey released by the Belo Horizonte City Hall indicates the capital is strengthening its position as a leisure destination. According to the study conducted by Belotur, leisure travel now accounts for 44% of trips to the city, up from 38.1% in the previous 2024 survey. Notably, 86.5% of respondents expressed an intention to return to the city.

Visitors are drawn to various segments, including historical-cultural museums (15.9%), natural parks and areas (13.6%), local artisanal products (12.7%), and entertainment or nightlife (11.47%). Approximately 87.71% of tourists reported that their visit met or exceeded their expectations.

In the state of Minas Gerais, the district of Monte Verde in Camanducaia continues to attract visitors with its alpine-inspired architecture and high altitude of 1,554 meters. Known as the ‘Swiss Minas,’ the destination is recognized for its gastronomy and ecotourism, having previously been named one of the most welcoming places in Brazil by Booking.com.
