Tourism trends show mixed recovery in Solomon Islands and Singapore

Tourism trends show varying recovery patterns across different regions. In the Solomon Islands, the National Statistics Office reported that visitor arrivals reached 25,130 in 2024. While this represents a significant rebound from the 2020 pandemic lows, it marks a 3.3% decrease compared to the 25,996 visitors recorded in 2023. Returning residents accounted for 51.5% of all arrivals, while Australians remained the largest visitor group at 31.9%.

In Singapore, 9.8 million international visitors arrived during the first seven months of 2026, a 1.9% year-on-year decline. Although July saw the strongest monthly performance with 1.63 million arrivals, growth from China—which provided 1.96 million visitors—was offset by declines from Indonesia and India. The Singaporean government maintains an annual target of 17 million to 18 million international visitors, supported by initiatives to encourage longer stays and exploration of diverse neighborhoods.
