Tourist dies in hospital after rescue at Playa Miramar

A 32-year-old tourist, identified as Jaime N., died in a hospital after being rescued from the sea at Playa Miramar in Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas.

The incident occurred on a Sunday afternoon when the man was caught in the waves and struggled to stay afloat. Lifeguards on duty observed the situation and performed rescue operations, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, to stabilize him.

Following the rescue, paramedics transported the man to the Hospital General (also referred to as Hospital Civil) de Ciudad Madero. Despite medical efforts to save his life, he passed away several hours after admission.

The Fiscalía General de Justicia de Tamaulipas has been notified and is conducting investigations. A necropsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death. Civil Protection authorities have urged visitors to follow lifeguard instructions and avoid entering the water during risky conditions.
