Tourist safety concerns rise following incidents in Tatra Mountains and Italy

Recent incidents involving tourists in popular natural locations have highlighted growing safety concerns. In the Tatra Mountains, a mother bear with three cubs was spotted on a highly populated hiking trail in the Chochołowska Valley. The encounter, captured on video, showed tourists standing in line while recording the animals. Authorities and social media updates emphasize the importance of maintaining a safe distance, noting that female bears with young are particularly unpredictable and dangerous.

In Polignano a Mare, Italy, a female tourist became stranded on the cliffs surrounding the Lama Monachile beach while attempting to take photographs for social media. Although the situation ended without injury, the local mayor, Vito Carrieri, issued a warning against climbing rock walls or jumping from prohibited areas for social media engagement. He stated, "We cannot allow such incidents to repeat year after year," and called for increased cooperation between local police and maritime authorities to promote a culture of safety.
