Tours expands vegan dining options with new plant-based establishments
The vegan dining scene in Tours is expanding despite recent closures of establishments such as Tahina and L’Instant. New plant-based options are becoming more accessible to residents and visitors.
Orné, a new vegan coffee shop and canteen located on Rue Colbert, has opened under the direction of owners Tania and Sonia. The establishment focuses on homemade, 100% plant-based food and drinks, avoiding industrial products in favor of seasonal offerings like freshly prepared fruit juices. Their menu includes items such as organic pita with red lentil meatballs and white bean stew with peanut sauce.
Other notable vegan-friendly locations in the city include Noah Pâtisserie, the only 100% vegan pastry shop and tea room in Tours, which offers lactose-free and gluten-free options. Additionally, Le P’tit Rex Café on Rue du Président Merville provides vegan and gluten-free products alongside its cultural programming.
