Tours launches reinforced action plan following childcare violence allegations

Following allegations of sexual violence against a childcare worker at the Mirabeau leisure center in Tours, the city has concluded an administrative investigation into its child protection protocols. The investigation was launched after a report surfaced regarding an incident involving a three-year-old child in early 2026.

Franck Gagnaire, the official in charge of the dossier, stated that the administrative audit found no evidence of systemic organizational failures. The report concluded there were no issues regarding staffing levels, regulatory controls, training, or awareness. While the judicial investigation into the individual suspect remains ongoing, the city has committed to reinforcing its existing safety measures to reassure local families.
