Tovar authorities establish Energy and Life Brigades in Mérida
Authorities in the Tovar municipality of Mérida state have established the 'Brigadas de Energía y Vida' (Energy and Life Brigades) to strengthen community awareness regarding the climate crisis and the responsible use of public services.
In the Las Colinas sector, assemblies were held to organize these brigades, which aim to promote water and electricity conservation. Local residents noted that electrical failures directly impact water pumping systems, making resource management critical for community stability.
In the El Corozo sector, officials conducted house-to-house visits to educate the population on the impacts of the 'El Niño' phenomenon. The deployment, led by Governor Arnaldo Sánchez and Mayor Yván Puliti, included representatives from Corpoelec, Hidroven, and the Ministry of Ecosocialism.
Additionally, authorities distributed construction materials to facilitate the building of an 800-meter culvert designed to protect the community from future stream overflows, marking a five-year commemoration of the August 2021 floods.
