Tovarnik Autumn Festival sees 382 kg pumpkin win first place

At the 20th anniversary of the Tovarnik Autumn Festival in Croatia, a pumpkin weighing 382 kilograms, grown by Ivica Ribarić from Kozarac, won first place in the heaviest pumpkin competition.

Other notable winners included Ivica Kadić from Gradište, who took second place in the weight category with a 190.5 kg pumpkin and first place in the longest squash category with a specimen measuring 157 centimeters. The festival, held annually in early October to coincide with the ripening of crops, aims to promote local agriculture and Slavonian customs.

Anđelko Dobročinac, the Mayor of Tovarnik, stated that the event provides a platform for local producers to present their products. Ivan Bosančić, the Prefect of Vukovar-Srijem County, also attended, noting that the festival successfully promotes the Slavonian way of life and highlights the hard work required in agricultural production.
