Tove Alsterdal and Göran Parkrud release new crime novel Vilddjuret
Tove Alsterdal and Göran Parkrud have released Vilddjuret, the first installment in the Skagerraksviten crime series set on the Swedish west coast. Published by Lind & Co, the novel explores themes of shame and guilt alongside a traditional mystery.
The plot begins following a major November storm when an 18-year-old finds a body caught in a ghost net. The investigation is led by police officer Tiina Laine from Gothenburg, who seeks assistance from psychologist Karl Stranne to understand the local community on the island of Marbratten.
In a review, Mats Palmquist awarded the book three stars, noting that while the collaboration is notable, the work lacks sufficient tension.
