Toverland serves as backdrop for new HalloWiebe film
The Dutch Halloween comedy HalloWiebe: Overdrive has held its public premiere at Kinepolis in Utrecht. The film serves as a sequel to the 2025 release and utilizes the Toverland amusement park in Limburg as the primary setting, portraying it as the fictional Halloween Happyland.
The plot follows security guard Wiebe and his team as they attempt to protect a valuable robot from a thief using a smaller, more powerful robot. Despite the Halloween theme, the film focuses on rogue robots and a villainous scientist rather than traditional monsters like vampires or zombies. One notable scene involves the collapse of the Dragonwatch lookout tower into a nearby pond.
The film is scheduled to play in over one hundred Dutch cinemas starting Wednesday, September 23.
