Torre de Hércules inaugurates new lighting and accessible paths

The Tower of Hercules in A Coruña has inaugurated a new efficient LED lighting system and improved accessible pathways. These interventions were driven by the Xunta de Galicia under the Plan Xacobeo Next Generation, which aims to modernize and protect various Cultural Interest Assets across the region.

The new ornamental lighting system utilizes advanced LED technology to reduce energy consumption and emissions while allowing for dynamic, thematic lighting during sociocultural events. Additionally, the surrounding paths have been upgraded to create a continuous, safer, and more accessible route from the roundabout to the coastline, ensuring better integration with the landscape while respecting environmental protections.

A subsequent phase of the project, with a total budget exceeding 900,000 euros, is scheduled to begin in September. This next stage will focus on structural conservation and archaeological research at the site.
