Town of Auburn vehicle crash into residence under investigation

A vehicle crashed into a residence in the Town of Auburn on the night of September 5, 2026. The incident occurred near the intersection of Highway 45 and Highway 67. According to preliminary investigations by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle was traveling northbound on Highway 67 when it failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the center line, and failed to stop at the Highway 45 stop sign before striking the home.

Both the vehicle and the residence were unoccupied at the time of the crash, though a family pet inside the home sustained minor injuries. The homeowners estimated the property damage to be approximately $15,000. Authorities believe speed and inattentive driving were contributing factors.

Law enforcement officials are currently searching for a known suspect. Despite utilizing a K9 unit, a drone, and interviewing relatives, deputies were unable to locate the driver at the scene. The investigation remains active.
