Towson University shooting leaves 18-year-old injured

An 18-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries following a shooting near Towson University on Sunday evening. The incident occurred around 7:15 p.m. in the 8000 block of York Road, specifically near the Cardiff Hall Apartments.

The shooting prompted Towson University to issue a campus-wide shelter-in-place alert at approximately 7:20 p.m., instructing students and staff to lock doors, close windows, and remain indoors. The emergency restriction remained in effect for over two hours while Baltimore County police investigated the area and searched for potential suspects.

University officials lifted the safety alert at approximately 10 p.m. after determining the immediate threat had subsided. Investigators also noted supplementary police activity near Osler Drive, which was linked to the initial shooting incident.
