Toxic box office collections decline following strong opening

The high-budget action thriller ‘Toxic’, starring Yash and directed by Geetu Mohandas, is facing a significant commercial decline at the box office. Despite a strong opening, the film has struggled to maintain momentum due to negative word-of-mouth regarding its content and performances.

By its tenth and eleventh days, the film's daily collections saw a sharp drop, with the Indian net collection reaching approximately ₹243 crore. While the worldwide gross has surpassed ₹330 crore, the film remains a commercial disappointment given its massive ₹500 crore production budget. It has notably struggled in Karnataka, the home state of lead actor Yash.

The English-dubbed version of the film, released selectively in major Indian cities like Mumbai and Bengaluru, also met with a poor response, reportedly selling only about 450 tickets on its opening day. This setback, combined with competition from other titles like ‘Mirzapur The Movie’, has led analysts to predict a rapid conclusion to its theatrical run.
